Where's the sign?
The sign that opened your sleepy eyes
The sign that conjured up that expression
The expression that contorted with wonder
The expression that glowed with enchantment

It has been stolen?
Stolen by one lacking appreciation
Stolen only to hurt and bring misery
Misery so grey, so very grey
Misery to bring fury and tears

Should it be replaced?
Replaced only to be stolen again
Replaced by a miserable clone
A clone that could never find that expression
A clone, unwonderful and unenchanting

The sign is gone
The moment has passed
Who has caused such misery?
